Welcome to the Charleston convivium (chapter) of Slow Food USA, an
eco-gastronomic nonprofit organization with international headquarters in Bra, Italy. We seek to create dramatic and lasting change in the food system.

Our mission is to reconnect Americans with the people, traditions, plants, animals, fertile soils, and waters that produce our food. As a Charleston chapter, we also have a unique opportunity to celebrate Lowcountry cuisine. and pleasure in the food we eat—in other words, food that is Good, Clean, and Fair. ... read more

What is Good, Clean, and Fair Food?

Good: Naturally delicious food created with care from healthy plants and animals.

Clean: Grown and harvested with methods that have a positive impact on ecosystems and biodiversity.

Fair: Accessible to all, regardless of income, and produced by people who are treated with dignity and justly compensated for their labor.

GOOD FOOD IS A COMMON LANGUAGE AND A UNIVERSAL RIGHT!

END CORPORATE CONTROL OF YOUR FOOD!

America's food system is broken.

Every week we read about record-breaking food safety recalls, a spiraling childhood obesity epidemic, and the continued loss of independent family farmers.

Please sign a petition to tell Attorney General Eric Holder and Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack "that it's time to break up America's corporate food monopolies before they do more harm."
